The theme of Black History Month 2021 is "The Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity" and what better way to kick things off than with a genealogy workshop!  Historian and genealogist Debra Blacklock-Sloan will draw on her more than 20 years of family research experience to help set us on the path to researching our own families.  Get the family together and join us!

Dr. Fay Yarbrough is Associate Professor of History and Associate Dean of Humanities for Undergraduate Programs and Special Projects at Rice University.    Dr. Farbrough joins The Gregory School for the first time to share her work on the complicated relationships Black folks had with whites and Native people as documented in the WPA narratives.  We hope you will join us for this fascinating discussion!

Dr. Farrah Cambrice is Associate Professor of Sociology at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). Dr. Cambrice’s research and teaching interests include race, disaster recovery, community building, and qualitative methods. Dr. Cambrice joins The Gregory School for the first time to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 global pandemic on the Black family structure.  Join us!
